Welcome summer intern Ben O’Daniel

Due to a generous donor, Moebius Nature Center will have an intern this summer (2021).  We welcome Ben O’Daniel to MNC!  He will be working and doing programs from June 1st to the middle of August.

Our Kids Summer Nature Series is under way with Ben! Join us at 10:00 am on Tuesdays for a Nature Center Safari (Nature Walk) or Scavenger Hunt. Come back at 9:00 am or 10:30 am on Thursday or Friday for an activity to learn more about different nature topics. Visit Ben’s Instagram page at https://www.instagram.com/benodaniel_moebiusnaturecenter/ to see photos from recent programs and get the latest information about the upcoming schedule. We can’t wait to explore with you!  No need to pre-register.

Here’s Ben’s introduction of himself:

Hello everyone! My Name is Ben O’Daniel and I am a senior at Kent State University where I am majoring in conservation biology. As a Kent native, I have had the privilege to grow up around some of Northeast Ohio’s amazing parks, and have always been enthusiastic when learning about the plants and animals that live here. I have also enjoyed teaching a range of children during my freshman year of college as an education major and during past educational internships in Portage County.

Working in biology has always been my passion and some of my best memories growing up have been ones where I was able to interact directly with the forests and wetlands.  Getting to hold and see animals and plants while growing up really helped foster my appreciation for the natural world and helped give me a passion for protecting the environment around me.

My hope is to help build some incredible memories with your children this summer, and to give them the experience of feeling connected to the natural world in a hands-on environment which they might not get in a classroom.

Be sure to visit MNC and Ben’s programs this summer.
